The 18th edition of the Reeuwijk Raid again will take place from GWV Elfhoeven. You can make use of our boatslip or lifting crane to launch your boat. We have a well equipped harbour and clubhouse and can provide a possibility to camp in the back of our parking area (grass).
The Reeuwijk Raid is an alternative regatta with boats that besides powered by sails can also be propelled by rowing, sculling, or with a punting pole. During the race, the leader of that moment has only one minute to enjoy his or her leading position and then has to close at the back of the pack again behind the RC dinghy. The boat and crew having to close behind most, are called as winners and will be rewarded the all famous challenge cup.
Taking part in the regatta provides an unique possibility to enjoy the beautiful Reeuwijkse Plassen, enjoy each other’s boats, socialise with fellow boaters, and it also has a little competitive element to it.
Boats can be launched, the clubhouse will be open from 16.00. Breakfast for Saturday and/or Sunday can be ordered through the registration form on our website
Boats arriving by trailer can be launched from 08.00. Cars and trailers to be parked in our parking. Boats should be ready prior 11.00. At 11.00 a Q & A session with coffee after which the race will start. Participants will have to provide for their own lunches. We will sail various lakes making up the Reeuwijkse Plassen without the use of engines (electrical or combustion). After the finish we will offer drinks (non-hosted) and the prises for that day will be awarded. A captains dinner will be served (use the registration form to indicate the number of participants). In the evening we can make music, sing, dance, drink and whatever (bring your own instrument). When it is time to close your eyes, you can either camp in the parking area or sleep in your boat. Sanitary facilities are in the clubhouse.
We start off with coffee at 09.00, followed by an international sculling competition. After that we will all sail the various lakes, have multiple bridge passings and aim to be back at the club around 15.00.
